The Nigerian Embassy in Vietnam has thrown its weight behind Tamunosoye Karibi-George, popularly known as Soye, as she prepares to represent Nigeria at the grand finale of the 73rd Miss World Festival.
In a statement issued in Hanoi, the Embassy described Soye as a proud ambassador of Nigeria's cultural heritage and the country's growing pool of talented young people.
The diplomatic mission said her participation has provided another opportunity for Nigeria to showcase its culture, identity and youthful talent on one of the world's biggest international platforms.
“As she carries the Nigerian flag with pride, the Embassy wishes Tamunosoye every success throughout the Festival and in the competitions ahead,” the statement said.
The Embassy also called on Nigerians resident in Vietnam, as well as friends and supporters of Nigeria, to rally behind Soye and cheer her on as she enters the decisive stage of the competition.
Soye has already earned an automatic place in the Top 40 quarterfinals after making history by winning the Africa's Top Model title at the Miss World Festival.
Her campaign has also attracted strong support from a Nigerian delegation in Vietnam, including Professor Steve Azaiki, Dawari George and Silverbird's Guy Murray-Bruce.
The Miss World grand finale is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 5 September 2026, in Vietnam, where Soye will join contestants from around the world in the final contest for the crown.
With her automatic qualification into the Top 40 and the backing of Nigerians at home and abroad, Soye goes into the final stage carrying both the Nigerian flag and the hopes of a growing number of supporters across the country.
