Isinwa Chidozie Senator has emerged as Mr Universe Nigeria 2026 and Mr Cosmo Nigeria, earning the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the Mister Cosmo International pageant in Vietnam in January.
The Imo State representative secured both titles at the grand finale of the Mr Universe Nigeria pageant held on Saturday at Skyview, The Lekki Coliseum, Lagos, beating contestants representing states from across the country.
The announcement came after a tense final moment at the event, with Mr Lagos seen holding Senator’s hand shortly before the anchor declared Mr Imo the winner. The announcement drew applause from the audience.
“The winner for Mr Cosmo Nigeria and Mr Universe 2026 is Mr Imo,” the anchor announced in a video of the event shared by the Nigerian organisers.
A fashion model and sports enthusiast, Senator is an alumnus of Imo State University, where he previously served as Mr Imo State University. His latest success adds to an established record in male pageantry, having finished as first runner-up at a previous edition of Misters of Nigeria before returning to compete for the national title.
The victory comes with prizes valued at more than N7m, including a brand-new car, cash awards and other gifts. More significantly, it places Senator on an international platform, where he will compete against representatives from other countries at the Mister Cosmo International pageant in Vietnam.
Other honours were presented at this year’s competition. Mr Lagos finished as first runner-up, while Mr Edo was second runner-up. Mr Benue won the Gentlemanx Top Model category, Mr Enugu clinched the Mister Tourism Africa Nigeria title and Mr Ogun was crowned Man of the Year.
Organised to select Nigerian representatives for international male pageants, the Mr Universe Nigeria competition brings together contestants from different states in a national contest that provides a pathway to global competitions.
For Senator, that pathway now leads to Vietnam, where he will represent Nigeria after adding Mr Universe Nigeria 2026 and Mr Cosmo Nigeria to his growing list of pageantry achievements.
