IBK Spaceshipboi Becomes OneBeat Fellow


IBK  Spaceshipboi, a renowned producer, singer/songwriter and vocal instructor well known for his vocal arrangements and gritty production skills has been selected as a Onebeat 2015 Fellow.

OneBeat is an initiative of the U.S Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, in collaboration with the Found Sound Nation.

OneBeat brings musicians (ages 19-35) from around the world to the U.S. for one month every year to collaboratively write, produce, and perform original music, and develop strategies for arts-based social engagement.

25 of the world's most creative producers, singers, musicians, song writers and boundary breaking fellows from 17 countries and territories including Nigeria, Russia, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Senegal, Kosovo, Indonesia, Turkey, Serbia, Malaysia, India, Taiwan and the United States were chosen this year to converge in the U.S to Learn, Create, Perform and show the influence and power music can have on our world.

IBK would be representing Nigeria in this event while experiencing first hand the language and cultural boundaries the Power of Music can break. He would also be touring several cities in the United States from October through November.

Born and raised in the city of Warri in Delta state , IBK is the perfect example of  passion and talent becoming reality. Under the production name MARTIANSHIP and a genre of music which is a fusion of gospel, jazz, neo-soul, hiphop and even RnB, IBK is set to further show the world the stuff he is made of.

He believes he was sent to add value to the world he currently finds himself hence he choose to call himself 'Spaceshipboi' .
