Photo's Of Babalorisa Paulo: The Handsome And Successful Priest Who Practices The Yoruba Traditional Religion In Portugal

A desire for glory and profit from trade brought the Portuguese and other slave masters to the West African coast in the late fifteenth century. Majority of the slaves taken were from the Yoruba race.

Over the years, the ability of preserving identity has helped in bridging the gap between the descendants of the Yoruba race in the new world and their original homeland in Nigeria. This identity is mirrored through religion ( the traditional African religion) and practiced with emphasis.

Such is the story of the handsome Babalorisa Paulo Tyomolu , a Yoruba man who practices the 'Yoruba Traditional Religion' in Portugal with so much pride whilst making a good living for himself.

This practice, which according to Paulo does not allow him and others to wear the tag of a lost people or nation and being able to hold onto his ancient identity and practices is most rewarding for him.
