ExxonMobil Trains Lecturers From Nigerian Universities



Moved by the desire to improve the quality of Geo-science studies in Nigeria, ExxonMobil in collaboration with the American Association of Petroleum Geologist, African Region, organized a training for Lecturers from 30 Nigerian higher institutions of learning. 

According to a statement issued by Mr. Andrew Ejayeriese, General Manager Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited (a subsidiary of ExxonMobil), the training is a concerted effort on the part of the company to further elevate Geoscience as a field of study in Nigeria to a globally competitive level.

Lecturers from the University of Benin; University of Lagos; University of Port Harcourt; Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife; University of Nigeria, Nsukka; University of Ibadan; Ahmadu Bello University; among others, attended the training.

Dr. Gary Hampson, A Petroleum Geoscience lecturer from the Imperial College, London facilitated the training in Lagos, which was anchored on the latest principles and applications in Sequence Stratigraphy.
