CloudVantage Launches as Nigeria's First Indigenous Cloud Automation Platform

Nigeria’s bid for digital sovereignty and home-grown infrastructure received a major boost with the launch of CloudVantage, the country’s first indigenous cloud automation platform. The new entrant positions itself at the heart of Africa’s rapidly advancing digital economy, offering automated cloud deployment, cost optimisation, and security tools traditionally dominated by global players.

For years, local enterprises and government institutions have relied heavily on foreign cloud services, paying in foreign currency, navigating latency challenges, and grappling with data-sovereignty issues. CloudVantage aims to change that. Built on open-source cloud architecture and offering dual-currency billing, the platform promises to deliver global-grade cloud performance while cutting deployment costs by more than 50%.

Speaking at the launch, CloudVantage CEO Muhideen Ashiru highlighted the company’s mission to democratise cloud adoption in Africa.

“For too long, Nigerian and African businesses, including governments, have sought affordable, local cloud-automation solutions,” Ashiru said. “We are not just offering cloud services; we are delivering an automated digital advantage.”

He added that the company’s focus extends beyond infrastructure to reducing friction and unpredictability in cloud spending.

“Our platform eliminates unexpected hidden charges, finally making scalable, secure and smart cloud technology accessible right here at home.”

With Nigeria’s digital economy projected to exceed $150 billion by 2030 and regulatory momentum shifting toward local data hosting, CloudVantage enters the market at a critical time. Analysts say its positioning could support both enterprise innovation and the government’s digital transformation push, particularly in sensitive sectors like banking, public records, health data and national security.

While the platform’s long-term success will depend on scale, reliability, and trust, its launch represents more than the unveiling of a tech product. It signals a future in which African cloud needs are built and automated by African engineers and leaders.

As Nigeria deepens its digital infrastructure, CloudVantage appears poised to become an anchor in the continent’s push for technological independence.
