Brilliant Kano Indigene Gets Scholarship To PhD Level




Just a few weeks ago, the social media was abuzz with the brilliant news of Fa'iza Abubakar's 2016 West African Examination Council (WAEC) result.

Fa'iza, an indigene of Kano State from Bakin Zuwo , made an all A1 result in all nine subjects she sat for at the Olumawu College, Wuse Abuja.



An elated Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje offered her scholarship that would cover her undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate degrees, at any university of her choice across the world.
According to the Governor, ''This gesture is to acknowledge merit and to especially encourage girl-child education in our state''.

He further said,''we are happy that this child has performed very well and I want to assure that we will continue to encourage our people to achieve in their chosen endeavors and bring honor to their families , the state and the nation at large''.

The governor encouraged parents to ensure their children /ward are properly educated and at the fore front of academic excellence with good character that would enable them succeed in life.

Presently, Fa'iza has been offered admission in one Nigerian University, one in Egypt and eight
 United Kingdom universities.
