The first round participants in the ongoing Youth Entrepreneurship Support (YES) Program sponsored by the Federal government of Nigeria in collaboration with Bank of Industry (BoI) has rounded off the compulsory three months online training as part of requirements to access loan from the Bank of Industry to a maximum tune of five million naira.
The training which kicked-off in June saw participants go through a three months intensive online training under the platform of African Management Initiative (AMI), a pan African innovative business e-learning portal. Participants in the YES program were trained in basic and professional business courses to enable them perform well in their various projects and businesses after funding by the bank.
According to the program timeline, the next stage in the program is a one week in-class training which will hold in states across Nigeria. Already, successful participants has been notified of their various schedule which includes venue and date of the in-class training between 26th September to 10th October 2016. The second round participants has already commenced their online intensive training.
The YES Programme is an initiative of the federal government and the Bank of Industry to tackling unemployment in the country which is expected to generate 36,000 jobs for the nation. The YES Programme is also part of the federal government’s drive and wealth creation programme which is aimed at addressing the malaise of youth unemployment.
The programme is targeted at young aspiring entrepreneurs within the age range of 18-35 years, who have a minimum educational qualification of Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or its equivalents.
