Muazam opened scoring in the seventh minute to give the Nigerian team an early lead. Moments later, Taiwo Awoniyi missed a chance to extend Nigeria’s lead and the miss appeared to be a costly one as the Tanzanians drew level through a direct free-kick from Banda Hassan.
Musa Yahaya however, restored Flying Eagles’ lead, and Awoniyi made up for his earlier miss as he put the ball past the Tanzanian goalkeeper to make it 3-1 before the break.
Chidera Eze scored the only goal of the second half to seal a comfortable 4-1 win over Tanzania, making the score 6-1 on aggregate, having recorded a 2-0 win in the first-leg played in Tanzania.
