Professor Ogechi Adeola is a distinguished academic leader, strategist, and business scholar whose career spans academia, corporate leadership, and development work across Africa and beyond.
She currently serves as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration & Human Resources) at the University of Kigali, Rwanda, following her appointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) in January 2024. In this role, she contributes to advancing institutional strategy, academic innovation, and capacity building across the university.
Professor Adeola also holds the position of Associate Dean, Business Administration at the University of the People (USA), where she plays a key role in democratizing access to quality higher education. At Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University (Nigeria), she is a Professor of Marketing and the immediate past Head of the Department of Operations, Marketing & Information Systems, where she led initiatives to strengthen academic excellence, research output, and faculty development.
In the corporate and governance sphere, she is an Independent Non-Executive Director at Cornerstone Insurance Plc, Nigeria, offering strategic direction and governance expertise. Earlier in her career, she held senior leadership roles at Citibank Nigeria, where her responsibilities included private banking, consumer and retail banking, product development, and customer service.
Her commitment to teaching and capacity building extends across borders. She has delivered teaching sessions for the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) Women Entrepreneurship & Leadership for Africa (WELA) programme and for the MSc programme at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). She also serves as an External Moderator for the MBA Programme at the University of the Free State Business School, South Africa, ensuring the highest academic standards.
Professor Adeola contributes to policy and development initiatives as a Consultant to Afreximbank, supporting the African Sub-Sovereign Governments Network (AfSNET) Initiative, which focuses on strengthening governance structures and fostering intergovernmental collaboration.
She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) and an MBA from Manchester Business School, UK, and a Law degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
