Honour for the 'Miracle Worker'

"When we visited Ogun State recently, we saw so many projects and developments that we left the state describing you as the miracle worker in Ogun".

With these words, President/Chairman of Council, Institute of Directors Nigeria, Mr. Samuel Yemi Akeju, explained part of the reasons the Institute decided to honour the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, as Fellow of the IOD on Thursday at a colourful event held at the Trascorp hotel, Abuja.

Describing the governor as one man who has positively impacted Ogun State with his Midas touch, Akeju said Governor Amosun's development strides are worthy of emulation.

The governor, on his part, thanked the organisers of the event for the honour. He described the award as a challenge to do more.

"They visited Ogun State in March and it was the first time the whole leadership of the IOD will be visiting a State Governor. They were impressed with what we have achieved in five years and this, I believe, motivated them to give us this honour," Governor Amosun said.

He added that "while this is a recognition of hard work, I am promising the good people of Ogun State that we are not going to rest on our oars even in our second term of office."
