United Nations Honours Governor Amaechi

Rivers State Governor, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi has been recognized for his role in the development of human capital in his state and as such honored with the United Nations (UN) Diplomatic Passport.

Governor Amaechi, who was earlier honored with an award by the UN for his development of the educational sector, was however honored specifically with a UN Diplomatic Passport to appreciate his focus and drive in  the proper usage of resources ‎for societal benefit.

A United Nations Laissez-Passer (UNLP), also known as a UN passport, is a travel document that accredits the identity and the affiliation of the individual bearer to one of the UNLP-issuing United Nations organizations : United Nations, World Bank Group, International Monetary Fund, World Health Organization, International Fund for Agricultural Development, International Telecommunication Union, World Intellectual Property Organization, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, UNESCO, International Labour Organization, United Nations Industrial Development Organization, International Civil Aviation Organization, International Maritime Organization, World Meteorological Organization, Universal Postal Union, and the World Tourism Organization.

The UNLP is designed to be used on official UN business and missions only.

Governor Rotimi Amaechi had also received the award of the Associated Fellowship of the UN Institute for Training & Research in Geneva, Switzerland which was also due to his contributions to the educational sector which places Rivers as the best state in Nigeria with 21st century educational facilities.
