Nigeria’s aviation sector has once again received a strong
vote of confidence as Air Peace secured another major industry recognition,
reaffirming its position as the leading airline in West Africa’s sub-regional
air travel market.
At the 2026 Nigerian Aviation Awards, the country’s flagship
carrier was named Best West Africa Sub-Regional Airline of the Year, marking a
back-to-back victory for the airline. The honour was announced at the NIGAV
Conference Centre in Ikeja, Lagos, where aviation leaders, policymakers, and
industry stakeholders gathered to celebrate organisations shaping the future of
air transport.
For Air Peace, the recognition underscores the airline’s growing role in strengthening
mobility and economic connections across the West African corridor. In recent
years, the carrier has steadily expanded its network, deepened its operational
reach, and invested in service improvements aimed at making regional travel
more efficient for passengers.
Award organisers pointed to the airline’s consistent
operational performance, expanding route network, and enhanced passenger
experience as key reasons behind the decision to retain the title.
Reacting to the honour, Air Peace spokesperson Osifo-Whiskey
Efe described the award as a validation of the airline’s broader mission to
reshape travel within the subregion. According to him, the company remains
firmly committed to driving regional integration by connecting major cities
across West Africa and improving travel efficiency for passengers.
He added that the recognition also reflects growing
confidence among travellers and industry observers in the airline’s ability to
deliver safe, dependable, and customer-focused services.
The Nigerian Aviation Awards, widely regarded as one of the
sector’s most credible platforms, recognise organisations that are pushing the
boundaries of innovation and operational excellence within Nigeria’s aviation
ecosystem.
Air Peace’s continued success at the awards comes at a time
when the airline is intensifying investments in fleet expansion and service
delivery, positioning itself as a central force in the evolution of air travel
within West Africa.
For Nigeria’s aviation industry, the achievement signals the rising influence of Nigerian
carriers in shaping regional connectivity, a development that strengthens the
country’s standing as a strategic hub for air travel across the subcontinent.
