The Lagos State Government will on Monday commence domestic Trade Fair tagged Eko Expo, aimed at promoting locally made products in Nigeria.
This was disclosed by Mr. Oluseye Oladejo, the Special Adviser to Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN on Commerce and Industry, while briefing the press in his office.
Oladejo said foreign exhibitors from China and Indonesia are among the organizations that have shown interest to participate in this year fair.
The fair which is being organized in collaboration with Lekki Free Zone Development is expected to promote investment opportunities available at the zone and in the State, as well as provide platform for operators in small and medium scale industries to showcase their products.
Oladejo stressed that the opening ceremony which will hold on Tuesday, 5th August, 2014 at the Lekki Free Trade Zone at 10:00am will have in attendance, His Excellency, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN as the Special Guest of Honour and other important dignitaries, while free transportation will be made available for visitors to the Expo from the Oriental Hotel Victoria Island to and from the fairground for the seven days that the fair will last – Monday, 4th –Sunday, 10th August, 2014.
Oladejo urged visitors to the Expo to take advantage of the fair by ensuring that they use the opportunity to buy all that is needed while urging the Exhibitors to bring to display all available products in order to provide a better opportunity for the buyers to select the best.
He reaffirmed the determination of the Lagos State Government to provide market for locally made products and services while encouraging investments in Lagos State. “This administration is committed to maintaining the status of Lagos State as the economic hub of the nation and as a State of Excellence and aquatic splendor” he said.
