The competition consisted of 20 gifted youngsters between the ages of 7-12 who got tested in Logic and Reasoning and Memory Recall with only one hour to commit 104 randomly shuffled playing cards to memory.
8 year old Tudor Mendel-Idowu and his sister 11 year old Hazelle Mendel-Idowu were the only Nigerians to take part in the Child Genius of the Year 2014 in the UK.
Hazel Mendel-Idowu was out of the competition in the second round but Tudor Mendel-Idowu made it to the final round and came second in position.
11 year old Sharon from Bolton won the competition. Tudor Mendel-Idowu is the son of Pastor and Mrs Tolu Mendel-Idowu from Nigeria.
